"We hiked every trail, snorkelled, kayaked, fed the eel, and totally relaxed like never before. We love and cherish this magical place." Recent review on Trip Advisor.
Bedarra Island Nature Walks and Swimming
Lose yourself in the cool and calm of the rainforest on one of the Bedarra Island nature trails. Stroll the uninhabited powder-white beaches. After swimming or snorkelling in the clear waters of the Coral Sea, which is a comfortable swimming temperature year round, doze on the sand beneath the shade of a coconut tree.
The lookout points dotted across Bedarra Island are a spectacular place for solitude, meditation, a romantic picnic, or to enjoy a glass of wine with your loved one at sunset. Your personal caretakers and concierge will provide you with information on Bedarra Island and can suggest the best places for picnics and sundowners.
You need not venture far for a swim with the sea at your doorstep and a private saltwater tidal pool off your bedroom.
Kayaking
At East Bedarra Island Retreat a kayak is always at your disposal so you can explore Bedarra Island from the calm waters of the Coral Sea.
Snorkelling and Scuba Diving
With the warm tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef at your doorstep, your stay at Bedarra Island provides the perfect opportunity to explore one of the seven natural wonders of the world - the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkelling equipment and the perfect launching pad come with the package at East Bedarra Island Retreat, however should you wish to go further afield to the outer reef and try scuba diving, there are many operators to chose from. Each is a little different and we're happy to advise.
Fishing
If you'd like to catch your own dinner from one of the bays around Bedarra Island, hand lines and tackle are provided. For the more avid fishers, private and fully-catered charters can be arranged.
Sky Diving
For the ultimate thrill, skydiving with Jump the Beach is one of the most scenic in Far North Queensland with views over the islands and the Great Barrier Reef.
